Photongraph - ich denke dieser Begriff passt auf mehrere Arten zu mir. Zum einen ist es meiner Meinung nach für ein schönes Photo nach wie vor entscheidend mit Licht zu zeichnen und weniger welche Kameramarke oder -ausrüstung man verwendet (wen es trotzdem interessiert womit ich photographiere: ich verwende meist Pentax-Kameras und fast ausschließlich Festbrennweiten - ohne spezielle Begründung, einfach weil es mir liegt und so gefällt). Natürlich sind auch Motiv, Bildaufbau sowie Beherrschung von Aufnahmetechnik und Nachbearbeitung nicht ganz unwichtig, aber ohne das richtige Licht ist die ganze Mühe meist doch umsonst.

Beruflich beschäftige ich mich ebenfalls mit Licht. Hier allerdings von der wissenschaftlichen Seite aus, also den verschiedenen Bereichen der Optik und in den letzten Jahren auch der Nanotechnologie. Daher ist es recht passend den Lichtaspekt im oberen Begriff durch Lichtquanten, also Photonen, zu beschreiben.

Photongraph - as I consider it, this name relates to me in various ways. First of all, in my opinion drawing with light is still the fundamental ability for great photographs - not the brand or kind of gear you are using (but for those who are curious: I mostly use Pentax cameras and almost always prime lenses - there is no special reason, I just like it that way). Quite certainly, finding an object, composing the image as well as the technical skills in camera handling and post-processing are also relevant, but without the proper light most efforts are just lost.

In my daily work I am likewise involved with light. Though here I approach it from the scientific point of view, or to be precise the various fields of optics and recently also nanotechnology. Hence it seems to be suitable to refer to the aspect of light in the afore mentioned name as quanta, i.e. photons.
